About Me

Mervin Flores: In my artwork, my main focus is to reawaken a sense of wonder about one’s environment. Living in a world where we are constantly bombarded by the media, we tend to start ignoring our surroundings. I feed of this idea by making images that are recognizable, allowing the viewer to become familiar with certain aspects within the work. At the same time, parts of the image seem to disrupt the flow of the painting, bringing forth questions which complete the message of the artwork.
